It reads as an adventure story. Jay At age nineteen, Jasper Bone left America to live with the Mbuti pygmies. He went to Africa hoping to find the Noble Savage. Maybe I'm being unfair by not finishing book, nor even getting half-way through, but Going Native was truly unreadable.
The narration is poor and extremely self-absorbed. If I was looking to read my journal, had I visited the Ituri Forest, this would be what I want/5(2).
